Root canal treatment is also known as endodontics, a specialty that focuses on saving infected teeth. Once your tooth is abscessed, or infected, there are only two options to treat it — remove the tooth or remove the diseased pulp. Dr. Herzog always prefers to save teeth and avoid extractions if possible.

During a root canal treatment, the pulp within your tooth will be removed, immediately relieving your pain and allowing you to keep your natural tooth. At Herzog Dental, most root canals are treated at our office.
